The Importance of Servicing Your Vacuum Packing Machine

A common fault our team find when visiting customer sites for the first time, is a lack of service history where the machine has been bought, delivered and has been used to the point of it failing. Instead of a service visit to ensure the machine is in optimum condition, our team find that months and years of neglect has caused corrosion to the pump. This leads to costly repairs to get the machine back performing as it should. Vacuum packing machines are often considered to be machines that are either working, or not working. Unfortunately this is not the case. A fully functional vacuum packing machine achieving an optimum vacuum brings the user many benefits:

  • Extend product shelf life

  • Reduce waste

  • Portion control

  • Preparation for sous-vide

If the machine is not achieving a full vacuum, the benefits are lost. Extending shelf life is reduced and in turn products can spoil quicker than planned because of excess air being left in the bag and the growth of bacteria. Instead of reducing product waste, products that have spoiled are then thrown away and cannot be used, costing the business money.

Once customers are shown and educated about the processes, regular servicing is quickly put in place, and it becomes the responsibility of GMSE Ltd to keep the machine in optimum condition ongoing. Scheduling regular servicing, booking suitable days and times, performing the servicing, carrying out post-service checks and ensuring the paperwork is sent to the correct personnel.

Ensure your vacuum packing machine is kept in optimum condition and contact us to book your servicing.
